Large-scale Moscow's Attacks Disrupt Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have caused power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while residents in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and encountered disruption to water systems, per reports from city officials.

At the same time, a young boy was killed in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated assaults on power infrastructure over the past few days, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in providing defensive weapons and enforcing penalties," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen projectiles targeted the country's power systems, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were laboring to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles hit electrical systems and residential structures in Kyiv.

Multiple people hurt in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

Regional authorities said the urban area came under heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A minor lost their life and several individuals were injured.

The assaults follow nights of air raids in the territory, portions of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The entire country is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with attacks already affecting energy systems.

Officials stated energy workers and authorities were anticipating additional strikes.
